• Various awards and scholarships are available to Alberta athletes.
• Athletes wishing to apply must complete the scholarship application form and submit to the Alberta Alpine Ski Association by the deadline.
• All applications are forwarded to the Awards and Scholarships Committee for review and decisions.

RACER SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES
SKI CANADA MAGAZINE AWARD This award is designated for K1 & K2 aged athletes with the potential to rise to the top of ski racing in Canada. The award is distributed by the Ski Canada Fund, a pool of funds accumulated through commissions paid on the use of the Bank of Montreal Master Card. An award of $500.00 to $1000.00 is awarded each year. Applications must be submitted to Alberta Alpine.
Eligibility: K1 & K2 Athletes
ROB BOSINGER SKI SCHOLARSHIP The Rob Bosinger Ski Scholarship is awarded to one talented young male and female ski racer with a national K2 card to assist in meeting the costs of ski racing.The scholarship is in memory of Rob Bosinger, a coach and mentor of K2 skiers over the years, who died suddenly of cardiac arrhythmia on May 20th, 2005. The funds for the scholarship come from gate proceeds of the Rob Bosinger Memorial Weekend held at Sunshine Village in Banff. $2,500 will be awarded per scholarship. The winners of the scholarship will be K2 ski racers who exemplify the qualities that Rob stood for: passion for the sport, ambition and courage, combined with talent and accomplishment, in pursuit of excellence in ski racing in Alberta.

CANADIAN SKI COACHES FEDERATION: Athlete Bursary The CSCF has established the CSCF Bursary Fund through the voluntary contributions of CSCF members. The fund is intended to support aspiring K2 and J1 ski racers competing at the elite level who demonstrate a financial need, a sense of fair play, strong commitment to the sport and excellent results at the national or international level. BRENT MARSHALL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The Marshall family established this scholarship in memory of their son and brother, who passed away from cancer. Brent was an avid skier and a member of the Mount Norquay Racing Team, now the Calgary Racing Club. This scholarship is available to athletes pursuing excellence in ski racing and education. The value of the scholarship is $567.

DAVID MURRAY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP This award was established in memory of Crazy Canuck, Dave Murray. A $500.00 scholarship is available from the David Murray Ski Foundation to an Alberta athlete who is working towards becoming a member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team.
Eligibility: Junior or Senior Athletes
EDMONTON ALPINE SKI GRANT Awards from this fund are meant to meet the unique and exceptional needs of Edmonton area “Alpine Skiers”, with the purpose of providing assistance in the form of grants to deserving student/athletes attending secondary or post secondary school on a full time basis.
Eligibility: Junior or Senior Athletes from the Edmonton area.
FRANKLIN DONALD BEAN AWARD This award is presented annually to a male member of the Alberta Ski Team who displays an attitude of sportsmanship and competitiveness and demonstrates a keen desire to become a member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team. The value of the award is $222.
Eligibility: Male members of the Alberta Ski Team
DEE READ AND KEN READ SCHOLARSHIPS
This scholarship is awarded to an athlete who demonstrates a true love of skiing by skiing outside of their normal program time on a regular basis.
Athletes to be nominated by the ski club (maximum two per club – one male and one female).
An award of $1000 is awarded annually to one male (Ken Read Scholarship) and one female (Dee Read Scholarship).

ATHLETE, SKI CLUB AND SKI AREA AWARDS
CARY MULLEN ‘CHARACTER’ AWARDS Qualities of a True Champion: Courage, Commitment, Confidence and Camaraderie. Cary donates six trophies awarded to athletes who display the qualities of a true champion in their ski racing pursuits. Athletes in each age group are nominated by their clubs. 2 NGSL (NZ & SZ) athletes 2 Kinder (NZ & SZ) athletes 1 Junior athlete 1 Alberta Ski Team athlete
SKIER’S FRIEND AWARD This award recognizes the ski area that is the most supportive of alpine ski racing and ski clubs in Alberta. Ski Clubs nominate their choice of ski areas by writing a letter to Alberta Alpine in March 2009 and speak to the nomination at the Spring Meeting. A vote by all clubs present follows.
ALBERTA ALPINE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP AWARD This award goes to the top club in the province based on performance in the K1, K2, and Alberta Cup series
