ABOUT

Hi, my name is Philip Pike and I am just starting my second season as a coach with the Alberta Ski Team. I grew up in Montreal, QC and started ski racing at a young age. I continued to ski race till the age of 17, where I spent my 3 years as a FIS athlete down in Vermont, attending GMVS. I learned a lot during my time in the states and really grew my passion for skiing.

Once I stepped away from ski racing as an athlete, I knew that I’d have to find a way to continue and be involved in the sport. So I decided to start coaching at the hill I grew up at in Quebec, Mont Orford. After a couple years coaching back In Quebec I got the amazing opportunity to move out to Alberta and start Coaching at Lake Louise. I always expected to coach out west for 1 or 2 seasons before moving back to Quebec, but that quickly turned in to 9 of the most memorable years of my life coaching at Lake Louise. I started out as a u14 coach and stayed with that same group of athletes for 6+ years all the way up till 2nd and 3rd year FIS.

It wasn’t easy to leave Lake Louise, but I haven’t looked back since my first season with the Alberta Team. The opportunity to work with these exceptional, hard-working athletes has been amazing. I really look forward to seeing what this team can accomplish as we head into the new season.
