Peter Rybarik

Born and raised in Slovakia, I competed in alpine ski racing throughout my youth and university years before earning a master’s degree in coaching and teaching from Charles University in Prague.

I began my coaching career as an assistant coach with the Czechoslovak National Ski Team and later joined the Slovak National World Cup Women’s Team. Following the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, I moved to Calgary, where I worked as a FIS coach at Paskapoo Ski Club.

After two seasons, I became Head Coach of the Alberta Ski Team, working primarily with the men’s program until 2004. I then joined Alpine Canada as Development Team Head Coach, working predominantly with the men’s program while also spending several years coaching the women’s team.

During my 15 years with Alpine Canada, I worked extensively across the Continental Cup, Nor-Am, European Cup, Junior World Championships. My focus has always been on developing athletes, building strong technical and competitive foundations, and supporting their progression toward the highest levels of alpine ski racing.

In 2020, I returned to Alberta Alpine, where I continue to coach today.
