Job Description:

The Lake Louise Ski Club was establish in 1965 and has produce quality ski racers ever since. The FIS program is run year around on and off snow by the FIS Head Coach with dryland and summer ski camps. The majority of the athletes are J1 (15-16) and will be focusing on the Miele Cup circuit in Western Canada for the 2010-2011 ski season.

The LLSC FIS program primary training facility is the Lake Louise Ski Resort but takes advantage of all the surrounding mountains for training opportunities. During the winter season, athletes will be on snow for 2-3 full day training sessions plus 2 night sessions at COP (Calgary).

The successful candidate will have a positive and innovative approach to ski racing and will work well in a team environment. Being based out of Calgary is an asset but not a necessity.  Very competitive salary!!!

 Nakiska Alpine Ski Association - Nancy Greene Coaches 2010-2011 Season

The Nakiska Alpine Ski Association's Skimeisters Alpine Racing Club is recruiting qualified Nancy Greene Ski League coaches for the 2010-2011 season. Our Nancy Greene Introduction and Nancy Greene Development programs train at Nakiska, Sunshine Village and Canada Olympic Park from December to April. Pre-season coaches training is offered in October and November.

Requirements:
- Current CSCF Entry Level and/or CSIA Level 1 certification (or registered for a course this fall)
- Availability to coach full days on Saturdays and Sundays from December to April
- Prior coaching and/or teaching experience is an asset
- Passion for skiing, ski racing and working with kids is a must

Alberta Alpine - Ski Technician / Assistant Coach Alberta Ski Team Women

Alberta Alpine is accepting applications for the position of Ski Technician / Assistant Coach Alberta Ski Team Women. A good knowledge of ski prep is essential. Experience with timing systems, video equipment, and a strong work ethic are desirable traits.

This is a full time, seasonal position and will be of interest to coaches seeking to gain experience at the Provincial Ski Team level. While CSCF certification is required we would be prepared to assist a motivated individual with strong ski tuning skills attain the necessary coaching qualifications.

Title: Canadian Para Alpine Ski Team (CPAST) Head Coach

Reporting structure: CPAST Athletic Director

The Position:
The Canadian Para Alpine Ski Team Head Coach is a coaching position which will provide technical leadership and coaching for the World Cup Team, and integration with the Development Program. The successful candidate, reporting to the Athletic Director, will have extensive coaching / technical qualifications, strong communication and presentation skills, and effective administrative and organizational skills. This position requires extensive traveling during the entire year to attend training camps and competitions.

Qualifications:

§ Minimum 5 years of full time coaching experience at the FIS level. Experience coaching on a provincial or national program is a major asset.

§ Level 3 CSCF and NCCP certification or equivalent and be a member in good standing

§ International travel experience is an asset

§ Must have innovative training approach

§ Must be dedicated to excellence through creative and innovative approaches to skill development.

§ Able to motivate high performance athletes

§ A university background in Physical Education or Kinesiology is an asset

§ Excellent interpersonal and organizational expertise

§ Leadership skills necessary to work within the organization and team structure

 

Responsibilities:

§ Work with the other coaches to design, implement and monitor an annual training and competition plan for the National Team World Cup and Development Program.

§ Preparing and working within the annual budget

§ Manage athletes' equipment needs and liaise proactively with the equipment representatives.

§ Oversee the maintenance and control of all team equipment.

§ Provide timely and effective communication to athletes and other coaches.

 

Term: Full-time position

Salary will commensurate experience and qualifications

Coaching Opportunity – VST FIS Head and Assistant Coach 2010/2011

The Vancouver Ski Team (VST) is the FIS level alpine racing team formed by athletes from the three North Shore Ski Clubs - Grouse Tyee Ski Club, Cypress Mountain Ski Club and Mount Seymour Ski Club.

The VST program and its leadership are currently going through a very exciting re-organization. There is a new vision from the clubs that support it, positive energy from the parents of the racers and a good drive from the program directors. We see this as a success oriented opportunity for a new head coach to come in and lead the team.

The VST is seeking an experienced individual, with enthusiasm and a passion for skiing and ski racing to take on the role of the Head Coach. The successful candidate will ideally have a solid background in Alpine Racing and will be certified with a minimum CSCF DL status, have recent experience as a FIS club coach or regional program, assistant coach supervisory experience, possess a valid class 4 driver’s license and good driving record. He/she should also be able to operate independently and have strong leadership, organizational, admin and communication skills. A post secondary education in a sport related field is an asset.

The FIS Head Coach is a full-time salaried position reporting to the VST Steering Committee and under the technical direction of the designated Program Director. Remuneration and duration of the contract is commensurate with experience and credentials of the applicant.

The VST FIS Head Coach will be responsible for developing and implementing an annual training plan for approximately 14 racers ages 15 to 17 forecasted to participate in the VST program for 2010/2011.

With the assistance of the new VST Head Coach, we will also be looking to employ an assistant on a salaried base for the winter season. Applications for the VST Assistant Head Coach are also welcome and will be determined once the lead role is assigned.

Grouse Mountain Tyee Ski Club

Grouse Mountain Tyee Ski Club is one of the longest running ski clubs in Canada located minutes away from Vancouver BC. The ski club has a rich history and currently has the biggest membership base in the province.
The Tyee Club is in the business of developing the physical and ski specific qualities of kids aged 6 thru 14 (Nancy Greene Ski League and Kinder programs).

Since a new program director and management took charge in the summer of 2007, club operations have improved significantly. The Tyee programs have adopted a new direction in training our skiers to be the best in the province. Our membership enjoys a vibrant social atmosphere and offers great support to the programs. The outcome of all of the above improvements are very positive, with member satisfaction, program growth and race results at an all time high.

We are looking to staff our coaching team with individuals who would like to work in a team oriented environment in Tyee’s new programs.
