The Nakiska Alpine Ski Association (NASA) is a family of clubs that joined together in 2009 to share resources. Our oldest member club is the Skimeister Alpine Race Club, which was incorporated in 1967, and our newest member club is the Mount Allen Ski Team, which was incorporated in 2012. Each club operates independently but joined forces in sharing lane space, equipment, office space, administration and a love of the sport when NASA was formed.

Each member club is responsible for specific age groups within the athlete development pathway and it means we aren’t competing for athletes, but supporting our athletes as they work towards reaching their own personal ski racing goals. We are also fortunate in that many of our athletes who retire from racing at our older athlete clubs, loop back around to the Skimeisters to coach our youngest athletes.

This season is all about celebrating our athletes, celebrating our coaches and celebrating our incredible parent volunteers. We are working hard to create a culture within our member clubs of coordination, support and the true essence of a ski club. Most parents join a ski club for the obvious skill development but also so they are surrounded by a group of like minded families who love to spend their winters outside, playing in the snow.

Nakiska Ski Resort feels like our weekend home. We strive for solid relationships with the management and staff at Nakiska as this is our home hill. And there is no better feeling than reaching the top of Gold Chair on a Rocky Mountain blue bird day and knowing you get to spend your weekend playing in the snow.
