Canmore, AB – Alberta Alpine is thrilled to announce that Darin McBeath will join the organization in the role of Alberta Ski Team Head Coach.

Darin is a born-and-raised Albertan, growing up racing for the Paskapoo Ski Club, eventually continuing on to compete on the Alberta Ski Team, the Canadian Ski Team, and is both a former Canadian Champion and Olympian, competing in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, UT.

Alberta Alpine President, Rob McCloskey, is excited to have Darin join the team at Alberta Alpine in this pivotal role within the organization. “Darin brings an incredibly strong high-performance career, as well as a fresh perspective to the Alberta Ski Team. He is athlete focused, passionate, and I believe an excellent person to champion the next chapter of our provincial team.”

In his statement provided, McBeath has indicated that, “ski racing, competition and the mountains are my love and passion. Growing up, I was fortunate to have strong support from coaches, parents and positive role models to lift me to the next level. I feel blessed to have that same support as I continue in the Alberta ski racing community. Now as the AST Head Coach, I look forward to being the coach and role model I had as a child, passing along the lessons I learned along the way.”

Darin will begin this role June 1, 2018.
