Canmore, AB – Kimberley Ski Resort and BC Alpine were host again to the Dreadnaught FIS Speed races, that welcomed athletes and teams from across Western Canada. The 5-day event started on Monday, with downhill training and wrapped up Friday, with a Super G (January 29th to February 2nd). Thursday featured two race events, with a downhill and a night slalom. Alpine Insurance Alberta Ski Team rookies Adrien Grabinski (Super G) and Jamie Casselman (slalom) both topped the podium on the men’s side, while AST teammate Zoe Belczyk took home a gold medal in Super G, and two bronze medals in downhill. Other podium finishes came from Kelvin Cochrane, with a bronze in slalom and Adrien Grabinski, with a silver in downhill. There were also a number of standout top 10 performances from other AST members as well as many from up and coming club athletes whose efforts paid off, improving their FIS points and series rankings.

The Alpine Insurance Alberta Cup FIS Series continues with two slalom races on April 7th and 8th at Panorama.
