(Canmore, AB) – This weekend launches the first Alpine Insurance Alberta Cup FIS Series of the 2017/18 season at Mount Norquay in Banff. Over 150 FIS racers will contest two days slalom action for both ladies and men on “Rob’s Run”. The Banff Alpine Racers are once again hosting this popular season opener and are looking forward to an excellent event on Saturday, Dec. 2nd and Sunday Dec. 3rd.

This season’s Alpine Insurance Alberta Cup FIS Series has 6 stops at 4 different resorts throughout the winter. The series will conclude and overall titles awarded at the series finals in Nakiska, April 14-15, 2018. Last season’s overall series winners were Georgia Burgess for the ladies and Keegan Sharp for the men – both members of the 2016/17 Alpine Insurance Alberta Ski Team.
