 Canmore, Alberta – The Alberta Alpine Ski Association (AASA) is happy to announce that Joanna Magee as the newest team member of Alberta Alpine Athletics Department in her new role as Athletics Manager.

Joanna is a born and raised Banff and Bow Valley Local having competed with the Bow Valley Quickies, the Banff Mountain Academy, and the Alberta Ski Team. Joanna brings a diverse skill set and experience to the AASA staff having worked in similar roles with Alberta Alpine and BC Alpine in the past, as an experienced ACA Coach Education Facilitator, Evaluator and member of the ACA Coach Education Advisory Committee, and as ski racing parent.

Cam Stephen the AASA Athletics Director commented “We are really excited to have Joanna on board. Joanna has been a leader in our community for several years, and right out of the start gate Joanna has had some great ideas and perspectives that are going to have some really awesome impacts for our province.”

As Athletics Manager Joanna will be taking on leading roles in Coaching Education Course Delivery, leading select AASA Athletics and Legends Club projects, and working to increase Alberta Alpine’s presence and involvement at the younger stages of the provinces athletics pathways.  Joanna will be starting on snow this weekend leading the Annual Mount Norquay Entry level coaching course.
