Hello all from sunny Saas-Fee (most of the time).
The team has been here for a week now and we have already had our fair share of ups and downs with bad weather, T-bar breakdowns and some sickness going around. I have also been off snow for the last few days with a small ankle injury that I suffered while training slalom the other day. However things are looking up now as I have had some good physiotherapy and I will finally be skiing on the new 30M GS skis!
I spent most of my summer mountain biking when I could and doing dryland in the gym when I couldn’t. Mountain biking is extremely fun and, in my opinion, the closest adrenaline rush to skiing that you can have without actually being on the slopes.
Coming to this team has been a big change for me, it’s a much more intense program with an obvious focus on results. The new coaching staff has been exceptional so far and I have already seen large improvements in my skiing thanks mostly to our head coach Thedy. He works me and the team very hard both on and off snow, and for good reason. He is a fantastic coach and I have the utmost respect for him as he is very knowledgeable and a fantastic skier. I am looking forward to spending the coming season with the new team and coaches, it will be my best one yet.
Finally, I would like to thank all the parents and the sponsors who make all of this possible. Thanks you all for your continued support.
